Raining on my parade

This past weekend Robert and I went on our first vacation together. We have to pick a extended weekend spot because his Spring Break started when mine ended. Therefore, I searched and searched and we finally decided on Kemah Boardwalk and Galveston because they were in driving distance to Prairie View. Well, I left San Antonio on Sunday because I had a wedding to attend/work on Sat. ( pics coming soon).

I was happy to be able to spend the whole week with Robert even though he had class to attend. I was even shocked that he cooked for me twice this week. He has never done that before.

grilled chicken cordon bleu

So the week was great except for the drastic weather change. On Wednesday, the temperature dropped and the rain started coming down and never seemed to stop ( from Wed.- Sun). This literally......rained on my parade. However, the hotel was already book so we left for Kemah on Friday afternoon.

Last minute escapade

Friday Night when I got home, I talked to Robert on the phone for a long time. He was asking me what I had planned for the weekend. I really didnt have anything scheduled... I was just going to watch Madea Goes to Jail with my sisters.

Well he said that he really wanted to see me and so I decided to take a last minute escapade to Prairie View, TX to see him. I left early Saturday morning and headed towards Houston. Well, the drive is no problem to me now I have probably driven that route a hundred times.

Well it turns out that I was really glad that I decided to go see him. We had some interesting conversation about the future and I could tell that he really wanted me to be there.
I enjoyed being in his presence and I wonder what the future holds..........

A Taste of Africa

Today was a long day at work. The students seem to be extremely excited or hyper for some odd reason. Well when I left work I had a headache out of this world. So for the first time in a long time I decided I need a afternoon nap. An hour and an advil later I was feeling fine. I awoke just in time to attend my mom's fashion show.

Every year my mom is in the Black History Month fashion show. She loves doing this so I make sure I go and show her support. Even though I think that some of the people that are sponsor the event are extreme. I mean....... I understand having cultural unity but GOSH some people take things a little too far.

I also tried African food at the event for the first time. I must say that I didnt enjoy it one bit. But hey I can say that I tried it lol.

I'm new to this!

Well were to I begin, I am new to this blogging thing but I wanted to give it a shot. I am embarking on several new phrases in my life currently and I need to record my experiences somewhere. Well 1st, I have been able to recently explore the idea of doing my favorite hobbie for other people. I absolutely love taking photos. I beleive that photography captures life every moment. I believe that the art of photography is precious because it allows you to capture time and freeze it in that moment forever. I love taking pics of people in the natural setting and in candid moments. I think a pic can be worth a thousand words.
